    Fit for Work Scheme

    Fit for Work is now available for employers up and down the country, this means they can refer staff who have been off work sick for four weeks or more to the service. The service is aimed to support workers in SMEs to close the gap in occupational health advice and support provision – as around 70% of employees in England and Wales don’t have access to occupational health and advice.

    Raising Awareness on Auto Enrolment

    A new national advertising campaign called ‘Don’t ignore the workplace pension’ has been launched to raise awareness of automatic enrolment among small and micro employers, business advisors and employees.

    A new character has been introduced to our television screens with the launch of a campaign which aims to change the country’s perception of pensions in the workplace. The big, colourful ‘workie’ character will be seen visiting people in all sorts of work environments over the coming months, asking them not to ignore him.

    Alcohol Registration Scheme

    Client’s who sell alcohol as a retailer or wholesaler need to prepare for a new alcohol wholesaler registration scheme (AWRS) which has been introduced with effect from 1 October 2015. It has been administered by HMRC. The scheme is designed to stamp out alcohol fraud, including sales of counterfeit alcohol and non-payment of duty. There will be civil penalties and criminal sanctions for non-compliance with the scheme.
